On January 22, 2008 I began to make a drawing every morning and post its image online. I called this project Morning Drawing, and kept it up for about four years, until August 2012, at which point it contained a little over 1300 works. Morning Drawing is the love-child of Internet performance and traditional art practice- I did it because I’m interested in making art continuously, without waiting for a convenient time, or inspiration, or an exhibition. It contains works on paper from 3 inches to 3 feet tall, and is the laboratory in which most of my other projects have their beginnings.
Morning Drawing has been shown in the US and abroad in numerous group and solo exhibitions. For years it was the home I carried on my back.
The Morning Drawing blog will remain as an archive for the project, and you can browse it in chronological order or search for specific dates using the calendar on the left. Search for your birthday!
