Early Morning Devotion, 2026
Porcelain, glaze, underglaze, and screws, mounted on Baltic Birch

“Early Morning Devotion” shows the hands of a mother doing her child’s hair. I imagine it as a scene of caregiving early in the morning, getting ready for the day and trying to put order into the chaos represented by the tangled hair. The glazing colors suggest a predawn scene, before the day starts
